Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival is excited to announce the return of its annual placement programme, exclusively for 爆料TV students. This popular opportunity offers students hands-on experience across festival operations, giving a unique insight into the running of a major festival. Students will gain valuable practical skills, work as part of friendly teams, and play a key part in creating an unforgettable festival experience.
A festival site operates much like a town, brought to life by a diverse range of roles. From essential infrastructure like plumbing, power and lighting, welfare, security and medical to entertainment and community — there’s a place for every skillset and passion. Roles available this year include, Event and Site Assistant, Accreditation, Marketing and Press Assistant, Photography, Entertainment Assistant and Artist Liaison. The Festival takes place from 30th July - 1st August and students must be available during these dates. Ideally for the Event and Site Assistant role, students should be available to help with the site build from 20th July.
Event and Site Assistant Role
Event and Site Assistant Role
Gain experience in the day-to-day running of a festival. You will be working directly with the festival management team. Tasks include, but are not limited to, signage, accreditation, marketing, administration, and communication with local residents, contractors, traders, and sponsors, etc. Within this role, you will support the Site, Decor, Entertainment, Accreditation, Artist Liaison and Trader teams during the site build and show days for a well-rounded experience. This role can be physically demanding with lots of walking and some manual handling.
- This is an excellent opportunity for those looking for experience in the day-to-day running and behind-the-scenes of festival and event management, and to contribute to the building of a festival.
- This role will alternate between busy periods and quieter moments, with time spent in the on-site event office and outdoors across the festival site to assist with event operations.
Commitment: 10 days - 2 weeks between 20th July - 3rd August. Hours: 6 - 10 hour days
Accreditation Assistant Role
Accreditation Assistant Role
The Accreditation Assistant role supports the management of staff, artists, crew, contractors, and media access to the festival site. Working within the on-site accreditation office, this role helps ensure that everyone working at or attending the event has the correct passes to safely access the appropriate areas of the festival. You will be building wristband packs and operating our digital accreditation system, which we will provide training for.
Great experience for anyone wishing to work within events and conferences, guest and VIP management, health and safety, press and broadcast production.
Dates: 27th July – 1st August. Hours: 10am – 4pm
Marketing and Press Assistant Role
Marketing and Press Assistant Role
You’ll be key to supporting the press and marketing team by escorting press and photographers between the press arena and stages, sitting in on interviews, supporting with capturing social media content and managing the upkeep of the press area.
This is a great opportunity for anyone looking for experience towards a career in press and journalism, marketing and PR, particularly within the live event and music sectors.
Dates: 30th July – 1st August. Hours: 8 hours, shifts will alternate between day and evening.
Photography Assistant Role
Photography Assistant Role
A rare and exciting opportunity for budding photographers to practice live event photography. Capturing the breadth of festival experiences, including: Family-friendly activities and attractions, Arts, theatre, and street performances, Camping and festival atmosphere.
This role will not include or require photographing headline artists or main stage performances. However, if anyone is particularly interested in artist photography, we can provide opportunities within their individual brief to capture some of the smaller stages, supervised.
All photographs will be provided to the festival free of charge with full rights to use them on our channels. The photographer can use the photographs within their own portfolio as they wish.
Students will receive an individual brief prior to the festival detailing:
- Key events happening and experiences to try and capture
- Recommended content types and shots that work for Belladrum as a brand
An excellent opportunity for photographers looking for practical experience in a live event environment, building a professional portfolio of festival photography and understanding of event coverage and content planning. You will work alongside our press and marketing team, and learn from experienced event photographers.
Dates: 30th July – 1st August. Hours: Different shifts to cover different key timings and moments. Flexibility possible: Students may attend for the full weekend or days of their choice.
Entertainment Assistant Role
Entertainment Assistant Role
Support our Entertainment Manager, who looks after all our performance stages, street theatre acts, workshop providers and even weddings. This will involve fulfilling an array of support tasks, including preparing riders, supporting and escorting entertainers and helping with set up.
Great experience for anyone looking for experience towards a career in theatre, entertainment and festivals.
Dates: 30th July – 1st August. Hours: 9am - 6pm, with breaks
Artist Liaison Role
Artist Liaison Role
Artist Liaisons support with maintaining dressing rooms, preparing hospitality riders, organising artist packs and accreditation. As part of the Artist Liaison team, you represent the festival and must demonstrate professionalism, respect, discretion, and confidentiality at all times when interacting with artists, crew, and staff.
Career opportunities include: Working in live music and touring, theatre and entertainment, VIP management and TV production.
Dates: 30th July – 1st August. Hours: 8 hours, shifts will alternate between day and evening as per artists schedule.

Commitment and Expectations
This is a voluntary position. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older. Students are expected to arrange their own transport and accommodation; camping and parking on-site are included, and public transport options are available. Students should bring their own camping provisions, although some help may be available with this. Meals are included during your shift. When students are off-duty, they are free to enjoy the festival. Each role has different date and time commitments, please check each role.

Now in its 22nd year, “Bella” is a family-friendly music and performing arts festival based in the stunning Scottish Highlands, just outside Inverness. With over 14 stages from mainstream and emerging acts to spoken word, cinema and cabaret - there is something for everyone.
Many of our on-site festival team are made up of previous 爆料TV students and volunteers who return to work with us year on year.
